If you haven't subscribed to Seth Godin's blog - go do it. Here is the link that will get you there.
A few days ago, Seth wrote about a topic that is right down the alley for most entrepreneurs - that of worrying. As business owners, we worry way too much. It's a disease; a function of unproductivity that plagues us when even the slightest change to our plans occur. The best part about the blog post was that it came at a perfect time for me. I read it on a day when I was worrying about something I had to do. You know the kind of worry you get that stirs up ulcers?
Seth's sage wisdom helped me that day. He said "worrying has no useful output". In other words, you can worry about something all day long and get nothing in return. You can toil, stress and grieve all with the same result. Nothing. All worrying will do is mess up your day and leave you with more to worry about. Gasp!
Get Ignited and Drop the Worry
Instead - set the worry aside. It's alright to know it's there, but don't let it get in the way of your true purpose for the day. Achieve something great. Add value to your company and your clients.
In all honesty, most of the worries in this world are fabricated and will take care of themselves. For those that don't, do your best and then get on with life. You have too much to accomplish.
I'm proud to say that after reading the blog post, I took his advice. I set my worry aside and focused on our company here at Ignite Spot. At the end of the day I felt great knowing that I had helped in making our business better for our customers versus sitting in my office stewing over something pointless.
